Data Policy & Retention
Exactly how long each type of content lives on ScriptU, and what happens when it expires.
Last updated August 28, 2026
Automatic retention schedule
- Direct and stage messages: removed from platform storage 14 days after they are sent.
- Live replays: removed 7 days after the session ends, unless saved. Saved replays can be downloaded with the ScriptU™ mark.
- Castings: expire at a maximum of eight months from posting and are marked finished automatically. An owner can update a casting, but never past the eight-month ceiling.
- Rehearsal scripts and takes: retained for 30 days on the uploaded-script schedule, or until you delete them.
- Take share links: stop working at the expiry you selected (1, 7 or 30 days) and can be revoked earlier.
- Reels, headshots and self-tapes: kept until you replace or delete them; deletion removes the stored file from the platform.
Deletion behaviour
When content expires or you delete it, the stored file is removed and the record is either deleted or reduced to a non-identifying entry needed for accounting or audit.
Backups roll off on their own schedule, so a deleted item may persist in encrypted backup for up to 30 further days before it is overwritten.
Records we must keep
- Transaction, payout and tax records for the period required by law (typically 7 years).
- Profile and media audit-trail entries — what changed, when and by which user — so both sides of a booking can rely on the record.
- Moderation and safety records relating to bans, reports and fraud.
Account deletion
Deleting your account removes your public profile immediately, cancels active listings, and starts deletion of your media. Open bookings, escrow balances and disputes must be settled first.
