Terms of Service

The agreement between you and ScriptU covering accounts, roles, content and conduct.

Last updated August 28, 2026

1. Who we are

ScriptU is operated by ScriptU (legal entity name to be confirmed), [registered address], governed by the laws of [state/country of incorporation]. Contact us at legal@scriptu.org.

By creating an account, going live, applying to a casting, posting a casting, buying, selling or watching on ScriptU, you agree to these Terms.

2. Accounts and eligibility

  • You must be 18 or older to hold an account, or 13–17 with verified guardian consent under our Minors & Guardian Consent Policy.
  • One person or organisation per account. You are responsible for everything done under your login.
  • You choose a workspace when you sign up: Talent or Studio. Some features are limited to a workspace or to verified accounts.
  • You must give accurate information. Impersonating another performer, agency or studio is grounds for immediate removal.

3. Roles on the platform

  • Talent: performers who publish profiles, media and reels, go live, apply to castings and submit self-tapes.
  • Studios and producers: post castings, run live auditions, browse talent, book talent and buy or request production items.
  • Vendors: verified sellers listing production goods in the Shop.
  • Fans: watch, follow, subscribe, tip and gift.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you upload: headshots, reels, self-tapes, scripts, rehearsal takes and live performances.

You grant ScriptU a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, encode, watermark, transmit and display your content strictly to operate the platform and the features you have enabled — for example, showing your profile in search, streaming your live audition to the intended audience, or delivering a share link you created.

That licence ends for a piece of content when you delete it, subject to the removal timelines in our Data Policy.

5. Casting and booking

  • Castings are posted by producers and are their responsibility. ScriptU does not employ talent and is not a talent agency, employer or manager.
  • Castings expire automatically after a maximum of eight months and display as finished after that.
  • Bookings agreed through ScriptU are between talent and the booking party. ScriptU provides scheduling, records and escrow, and charges a fee on successful bookings.
  • Never pay a producer to audition. Report anyone who asks.

6. Fees

Joining, profiles, auditions, showcases, casting posts and discovery tools are free.

ScriptU earns from successful bookings, gifting commissions, subscription revenue share, premium promotion and verification services. Current rates are shown at the point of purchase or in the Subscription & Billing Policy.

7. Prohibited conduct

  • Harassment, hate speech, threats, doxxing or sexual content involving minors — zero tolerance, permanent ban and referral to authorities where required.
  • Nudity or sexual performance on live stages.
  • Uploading work you do not have the right to use.
  • Scraping, automated account creation, circumventing rate limits, probing or attacking our infrastructure.
  • Off-platform payment solicitation intended to avoid escrow protections and fees.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate an account for breach of these Terms, fraud, chargeback abuse or risk to other members. Where lawful and safe, we tell you why and how to appeal.

You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard. Deletion timelines are set out in the Data Policy.

9. Disclaimers and liability

ScriptU is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that you will be discovered, cast, booked or paid by any third party.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScriptU (legal entity name to be confirmed)'s aggregate liability to you is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100.

10. Changes and disputes

We will post material changes here with a new effective date and, for significant changes, notify you in-app. Continued use after the effective date means acceptance.

Disputes are governed by the laws of [state/country of incorporation]. Contact legal@scriptu.org before filing a claim so we can try to resolve it directly.
